Since 2001, Ted has thoughtfully provided design and architectural services for home, commercial, office, and institutional projects. TDArchitect helps plan, create, and manage projects from initial contact with our clients to a project’s completion. Our respect for environmental context informs our work as we creatively respond to each clients’ unique project parameters. We seek to provide expertise in the process of giving form to clients’ ideas.

Meet The Team 
M. Ted Dickerson, AIA, NCARB | Architect, Project Manager
Ted was born in Boston and grew up in the Boston area. Family ski vacations at Mt Abram and Sunday River near Bethel, Maine and wilderness trips near Bethel helped instill a love and respect for nature at an early age. He is a ski instructor at Mt. Abram ski area, Greenwood and Bethel area chamber member, Maine Island Trail Association member and volunteer, and former Portland Business Network member and Chair of the Membership Committee in Portland, Maine. He first became interested in architecture during his college years while working as a carpenter. Prior to obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design, Boulder, Colorado, Ted studied physics at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Ted held a General Contractor’s license in Massachusetts prior to obtaining a Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He holds an NCARB certificate, and obtained architecture licenses in five states, Maine, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Alaska. Ted’s respect for environmental context informs his work as he seeks to help his clients realize their vision.
Susan Dickerson, MBA, Artist | Designer, Business Professional
From a young age Susan loved creative endeavors and the natural environment. Her high school and college years were spent in Boulder, Colorado exploring the mountains and experimenting with different art forms. She earned a business degree with an emphasis in small business management from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After graduation she accepted an intrapreneurial executive training position in Denver, Colorado prior to starting a design and build company with Ted in New England. It was through their design small business that she found an opportunity to combine her professional and personal interests. After raising children, Susan continued to develop as an artist professionally and earned her MBA from the University of Alaska Anchorage with an emphasis in analytics. Her thesis project was on using internal business data and public GIS data as decision-support tools for small business management and entrepreneurship. Prior to helping launch TDArchitect in Maine, she held a position with the State of Alaska as a Process Improvement Coordinator/Liaison earning high accolades for her work. Her varied professional experiences and interests bring to TDArchitect an ability to listen and observe carefully and help translate environmental context and parameters into form and space.
